Ceremony sequencing
A running order for tilak, chunni, shagun and ring exchange that respects the customs of both families.

Weddings
The first time both families sit at the same table.
Overview
An engagement is often the first formal meeting of two families, and it sets the tone for everything that follows. Some families want a quiet roka at home with forty relatives and a pandit; others want a ring ceremony for 250 with a stage, a band and dinner. We plan both, and we pay attention to the small protocols — who sits where, whose elders are welcomed first, when the shagun is exchanged.
In Dehradun we work across banquet halls, garden lawns, hotel ballrooms and family homes. We take care of décor, catering, sound, photography and the ring-exchange moment itself — the tray, the lighting, the cue for the music — so that your family can spend the evening getting to know the people it is about to become related to.

A roka is a traditional, usually smaller ceremony that formally seals the match, often at home with close family and a pandit. A ring ceremony or sagai is larger and more social, with a ring exchange, dinner and music. Many families now combine the two into one evening.
Engagements are often fixed within weeks of families agreeing on a match. We have planned ring ceremonies in Dehradun in under three weeks; the constraint is usually venue availability on auspicious dates, not décor.
It does not have to, but many couples like a thread running through both, such as a colour, a flower or a motif. If we are planning the wedding too, we design the engagement as a first chapter rather than a preview.
We do not sell jewellery, but we handle the presentation — ring trays, shagun thaals, gift wrapping and display — and can recommend packaging and hamper makers for the gifts exchanged between families.
Client stories
We booked Shrim for our ring ceremony and ended up trusting them with everything after it. They found a photographer who caught my nani laughing mid-ceremony, organised a sunrise pre-wedding shoot near Sahastradhara, and kept both families on one shared plan. Having the same team from the ring to the vidaai made it all feel connected.

My sangeet had 22 performances, a small army of cousins and one very nervous father. The Shrim team ran rehearsals to a proper timetable, did the sound check twice, and got the DJ to switch to old Kishore Kumar songs the moment the elders took the floor. It was the most fun night of the whole wedding.

Four hundred guests, two caterers and a baraat that arrived forty minutes late. Tushar handled it all calmly and kept the pheras on muhurat. The food was excellent and reached the last table hot. My only small complaint is that I would have liked the final invoice a little sooner. Otherwise, I could simply be a father that day.
