College & School Events, done properly
Dehradun is a city of schools and colleges, and their events are some of the largest we produce: annual days with six hundred parents in the audience, fests with a headline artist and three thousand students, convocations with a chief guest and a precise protocol. These events run on committees, fixed budgets and approvals, so we plan with the organising team rather than around it.
We provide stages, sound, lighting and LED screens, artist management for fest headliners, registration and passes, crowd barricading and security, and liaison with local authorities where large gatherings need permission. For schools, we add the practical layers: parent seating, child safety, backstage supervision and a programme that finishes when it promised to.

College & School Events: your questions
Do college fests need police permission?
Large gatherings, especially with ticketed entry or amplified music on open grounds, usually need intimation to the local police and sometimes permission from the district administration. We prepare the paperwork with the institution and plan barricading and security to match.
Can you work within a fixed student budget?
Yes. We give the committee a clear breakdown of fixed costs like stage and sound, then show where the budget can move — artist fee, LED size, décor — so decisions are made with full information.
Who handles the headline artist's rider and travel?
We do. We read the rider with the committee, negotiate the practical parts, and manage flights, hotel, green room and stage timings. Artists performing in Dehradun usually fly into Jolly Grant, and we plan the airport run around the soundcheck.
How do you manage child safety at school events?
Backstage areas are supervised by teachers and our crew, performers follow a class-wise pickup and drop plan, and children are kept well away from cables, truss and effects. Parent seating is kept separate from performer movement.

Our annual fest had 2,000 students, three days of competitions and a headline band on the final night. Kabir's production team built a stage the students still post about, worked directly with the band's management, and ran crowd control alongside our volunteers. They also gave a proper platform to our Garhwali and Kumaoni folk dance teams.

Our children planned this as a surprise with Meher's help.
