Birthday Parties, done properly
A first birthday for a toddler and a sixtieth for a retired colonel have almost nothing in common, except that both deserve to be planned around the person. We start with who is being celebrated and who is coming: how many children, how many grandparents, whether the evening should end with speeches or a dance floor. The theme, venue and menu follow from there, not the other way round.
In Dehradun we plan birthdays in homes, cafés, farmhouses, hotel ballrooms and rooftop venues. We handle theme design, cakes and dessert tables, entertainers, games, photography and return gifts, and for surprise parties we manage the delicate logistics of getting the guest of honour to the right place at the right moment without suspicion.

How do you keep a surprise party a secret?
We work through one trusted contact, agree a decoy plan with them and keep guest communication off shared family groups. Guests arrive in a fixed window, cars are parked out of sight, and we track the guest of honour's movements by phone until the reveal.
What entertainment works best for a first birthday?
Most guests at a first birthday are adults, so we balance soft play or a magic show for the older children with a relaxed, well-fed setting for the family. Keep it to two or three hours — the birthday child will not last longer.
Can a milestone birthday be themed around the person's life?
Yes, and those are usually the best parties. We have built themes around a parent's army postings, a favourite decade of Hindi film music and a lifetime in the tea trade, with photographs and memorabilia woven into the décor.
Can you plan a birthday outside Dehradun?
We plan birthday weekends in Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Jim Corbett, with stays and activities for guests. These work particularly well for 40th and 50th birthdays with a close group of friends.
